Garden Wall Restoration
Winchcombe
About
For this project, our team was called in to restore a deteriorating garden wall that had become unstable due to age, weather exposure, and root damage. We began by carefully dismantling the compromised sections, salvaging original bricks and coping stones wherever possible to preserve the wall’s historic charm. All the old mortar from the joints to the remaining masonry wall were then carefully removed.
Starting from a clean base, we commenced with the restoration work. Using a lime mortar mix suitable for traditional masonry, we rebuilt the wall and re-pointed the rest of the wall. Once completed we re-bedded the original coping stones to cap the wall and provide a suitable weather proof finish. All while maintaining the original layout and aesthetic of the wall.
The result is a fully restored garden wall that retains its character while gaining the strength and durability needed to stand the test of time—blending craftsmanship with careful conservation.
What we say
This wall had real character—we made sure to keep that while giving it the strength it needed to stand solid for years to come.
